Hola folks!

It been a while since our last challenge, so I am back again to chew your brains out with a growth problem.

Calculate Growth over Previous Quarter End Month – Video

Consider this Pivot Table

Find Growth From Last Quarter's End Month

Total Sales (Measure) – Sum of Sales Amount column in the Sales Table (with order level granularity) is displayed for each month.

The Problem

You need to find the Sales Growth from previous quarter’s ending month.

I know that can be hard to grasp so let’s take a look at an example!

  1. From the picture above, consider the Sales figure for Dec 2002 i.e. 755,527.94 should be compared against the previous quarter’s month end value, Sep 2001 i.e. 473,943.06 to find the growth %.
  2. Similarly all months should be compared against the previous quarter’s month end value.

Expected Output

Here is a more pictorial view of the output expected.

The growth calculation should be sliceable by any dimension.

The Rules

  1. Feel free to use DAX and Data Modeling or even a creative mix of both.
  2. Post a link to download your pbix file.

Get going people!

Just like always, I’ll shout out loud for all the creative geniuses!
